I'm alive!

If you've been reading the Jane Austen quote blog, you know that already, but after not posting here for six-plus months, I thought perhaps I should clarify that.

The book is completely done other than proofreading (whoo-hoo, whoo-hoo!) and review copies have already gone out, so we should start seeing some reviews in the next month or so. I can't wait!

The title has changed once more (but this is really it): A Walk with Jane Austen: A Journey into Adventure, Love and Faith. And -- as you may already know -- it's available for pre-order on Amazon. It's official release date is October 16.

I'm still struggling with the Lyme disease, but beginning to feel better. I'm very thankful for that. The doctors think it could be as much as another three years on treatment to get it to go into remission. I'm continuing to pray for complete healing, and at the same time trying to mentally and emotionally accept what may be a long-term energy deficiency.

It's very nice to be back!

Lori,

I found your blog in a Google News Alert I get daily which also includes Google blogs. I started a blog too but I've only written in it 3 times and I didn't know I had Lyme until the last post. Mine's called "I have Lyme Disease but I was misdiagnosed for almost 4 years as having fibromyalgia!" so I guess that means I changed the name of it the last time I posted to it. I'm curious about where you live in VA because I lived in Newport News, VA when I got sick with what looked like a spider bite. Of course, as you know, the idiot doctors there didn't think it could possibly be Lyme disease either and didn't test me for it until weeks after I'd been on antibiotics. Even then, I had to BEG for tests and again, as you know, the tests are unreliable anyway so they were negative. I searched for answers for years and finally got a positive test result from IGeneX in CA. I moved back "home" to PA to be near my family after draining my savings and being too sick to work. I rented out my townhouse in VA for a year and now, 4 yrs. later, I'm still in pain, even after taking oral doxycycline for 5 months straight. I'd like to talk to you more because I'll sit here and write all night....I want to write a book too. Maybe you can give me some pointers. You can email me at diannevogt@roadrunner.com because, even though I created a gmail acct., I haven't used it yet and never check it. I spend most of my waking hours online and the other 10-12 hrs. of the day trying to do the basic cleaning, laundry, etc. I'm very lucky to have a fiance' who does all the cooking, works part-time as a dental hygienist, and even does some of the things I should be doing if I didn't feel so weak and rotten all the time. He's the only good thing that came out of coming back to PA (my family just isn't that close and my married daughter lives in northern VA) so if I could just talk my fiance' into moving to the Hampton/Newport News area, I'd be happy. That way, I wouldn't be too close to my daughter and I'd be 500 miles away from the rest of my family, who doesn't seem to care that I'm here anyway. I think they're all still wondering if the Lyme disease test result is real since it came from a lab not approved by the FDA! Who the hell trusts the FDA anyway? Certainly not me. Don't even get me started. I'll save that for another day. See...I really need to write a book. If you only knew my medical history, you'd be amazed. The Lyme disease is only a small part of it. Email me and I'll even give you my phone # so we can talk about this illness that is slowly killing us. I know one thing I read in your blog that I agree with...I seriously considered suicide a time or two because of the pain. IT'S REAL, PEOPLE!!!! Keep in touch. Remember, use the roadrunner email address. Dianne

I'm not sure why it's asking me to leave my comment again when I can see it already typed above and saved so if you don't get this long message I just wrote to you, I'm saving a copy of it and I'll email it. You can email me at diannevogt@roadrunner.com, not the gmail acct. and by the way, I have Lyme Disease too. I also lived in VA when it happened 4 yrs. ago so I'd like to talk to you about how you're doing. Email me. Thanks, Dianne

Lori,

Great to hear that the book is finished! I am so excited for you! Well, now I know one thing that Christy will be getting for Christmas. Recently, she has been addicted to Jane Austen, so I am sure that she will love the book.
